to Eat in Surin & Laguna
The Supper Club
The Supper Club, Laguna, has a beautiful romantic interior, subtle lighting,
plus a stylish bar and crowd. They serve excellent lamb, plus
an Asian menu, and big juicy red wines.
Location: Laguna Resort (Tinlay Place), c. 10 minutes
from Bangtao

Hotel
Beautiful building and interior design, with a fantastic bar . Interesting
menu, why not try the smoked duck ravioli which is delicious.
Location: Surin Beach Road
Price Rage: Medium- High
Silk Restaurant
Great for gourmet Thai food, or simply hang-out at the cocktail bar. The
interior is spacious and there are relaxing daybeds for lounging dressed
in colorful Thai silks.
Try 'Goong Sarong', deep fried prawns wrapped in crispy noodles served
with mango and chili sauce.

Catch Beach Club
This is the best of the bars on Suirn Beach, it has good-quality live
entertainment and great food. Its a beautiful setting right on
Surin Beach, with lots of comfy loungers to chill-out and relax in
style.
There is a mouth-watering Thai menu but it's famous for its seafood
and BBQ's. It's definitely the place to be on a Friday night, c.1,290
Baht for the beach BBQ and ½ bottle of wine.

Nok & Joes
Thai and Western food in a lovely garden style setting, very close to
Club Lersuang. If you are adventurous you could use the short-cut (a
dirt track) and avoid taking a taxi. Look-out for all you can eat BBQ's
for around 300 baht.
Location: Opposite Club Lersuang - a short walk from the resort
(Bangtao Beach Area)

Aqua Restaurant
A large menu of British and Thai food, consistently good and it can even
be delivered to your room or sunbed. Try the English breakfast,
or bacon baguette its' great!

Andaman Sea Resort
This is a romantic spot right on Bangtao Beach, at certain times of the
year its fairly quite and a perfect place to relax and look out to
sea. They have a good selection of Thai dishes and fresh seafood.

Consistently good Thai food on Surin Beach road.

Marlee Restaurant
If would like to eat where the locals eat, try Marlee. The menu
consists of Thai green curry, Masaman Curry, or Pad Thai noodles plus
a few other dishes for lunch, and you can walk round the corner to from
Club Lersuang. It is on the roadside, but they have a couple of
bamboo tables which are quite pleasant, the menu is written in English
and very friendly service.

The Siam Deli – Coffee
Shop & Bakery
The Siam Deli is a small friendly New York style coffee shop and bakery,
selling fine quality imported goods, fresh breads, sandwiches, bagels,
cheesecakes and ice-creams. It's a good place for foodies, whether
it's lunch, breakfast, or simply a juice.
You could be tempted by a Cajun chicken baguette, the Deli Burger which
is delicious, or there are Belgium waffles and coconut & macadamia
nut pancakes for the sweeter tooth. Plus, the classic New York style
cheesecake and coffee.

Paula's Cafe Retro
Good breakfast and lunch menu, fresh bread and cakes.

Shop Until You Drop!
Boutique Shops
There are a number of small local boutique shops along Surin Beach road
, Surin Plaza, and Canal Village. Ginger (ground
floor, Surin Plaza) has some interesting trinkets, jewelery, and
gift items.
On Suirn beach road, there is a small gallery where you can buy paintings,
an antique shop Soul of Asia, and boutique clothes shop Dharma
bum. You could also visit Twinpalms Hotel, 'Island
Shop', on the ground floor near to the juice bar, selling
beautiful bikinis, necklaces and bags, and their Spa sells interesting
teas, oils and candles.
Canal Village, within Laguna, is a great place to wonder,
you can find Jim Thompson Thailand's famous producer
of silk products including cushion covers, purses and other luxury items. There
is also a good coffee shop, clinic, travel agent, and souvenir shops.
Markets
One of the best local Thai markets is the Sunday market in Cherntalay,
at the intersection by the Police station, every Sunday afternoon.
Super Markets
Tesco Lotus is the nearest western style Super Market
and it is located about 5-10 minutes from Club Lersuang, it sells most
grocery items including fresh milk, drinking water, fruit, vegetables,
suncream, music, books, and newspapers; as well as a bakery and pharmacy. Tesco
Lotus is open from 9am to 10pm everyday.
Carrefour in (Jungceylon mall) Patong is a larger Super
Market and it's about 20 minutes away. Other Super Markets such
as Big C, and Tops can be found in the
center of Phuket Island. Local shops, grocery stores and Seven-Eleven
convenience stores are on every main road.
Shopping Malls
There are two main shopping malls, Central Festival and Jungceylon.
Jungceylon in Patong is the nearest mall, and it's has a large variety
of shops, including Robinson's department store, sports shops, diving
shop, food centre, cinema, nail and beauty salons. You can park
underground but you may need to pay a small fee of 30THB depending on
how long you stay, and show your shopping receipts. It also has
an indoor market, perfect for souvenirs such as Thai Silks, Pearls, Shells
and local items.
Central Festival is located in the center of the island and is about
a 30 minute drive, it has some designer brands like Guess, and everyday
shops as well. Its a great place to buy good quality items, ask
for a 5% tourist discount card.
ATMs can be found at all shopping malls and large super markets, the
nearest ATM's are at Tesco Lotus and Surin beach road, near to the Tuk
Tuk stand.

provides adventure for all tastes:

chartered boats, cruises, fishing, surfing, kayaking,
canoeing, water ski cableways and pristine
beaches for sunbathing and swimming.
Phuket
has go cart racing, a shooting range, bowling, rock climbing and mini-golf.
Phuket
is famous for it's world class golf courses, some of the best in Asia.
Some
other activities which are available are horse riding,
exploring the many nature reserves and temples and hiking.

The
range and quality of food available in Phuket is beyond belief. With
plenty of dining spots serving up fresh, local seafood, as well as
an amazing array of local and international dishes, you can eat your
fill and take in
the warm sunshine at the same time. Enjoy everything from fine European dining
to fresh local Thai food from street vendors and everything inbetween.
Authentic Italian gelati. European chocolates and cheeses. Fusion
restaurants run by expats from all over the world - from France to
India to Japan. Fresh tropical fruit platters and traditional Thai
seafood can be found in almost every restaurant. Phuket is a food
lovers paradise!

You
can visit Phuket Zoo, Phuket Aquarium, Phuket Butterfly Garden, Phuket
Orchid Garden and Phuket Fantasea (shown below). There is no end of things
to do on Phuket but for those who prefer to do nothing, lazing around
the pool, sipping tropical juices and getting massages are always an
option. The perfect place to do nothing!
